Inspired by the Japonese « Neko cafes », Café des Chats is a very unusual Parisian place in the Bastille district were you can sip a drink with a pastry or a snack and play with cats!

Cats running around, scooping in a basket, these creatures have been selected for their sociability in various shelters. You will find next to the menu, a biography of each and every cat. No doubt the cats are happy, each of the waiters has to take care of 3 of them on a daily basis, and, far from cats prostitution, you will remember you will be on their territory, they tolerate you!

The place opened thanks to a 2.0 fundrising system: crowdfunfing. Margaux heard about that in London where the same project was launched. Finally it is the Paris one that openned first! It is true that the French are pet friendly as you will have to be to book a table there! The place is so successful that booking is required at least a week ahead of time and by mail only! Don’t get mixed up with other ressources about Café des Chats that you might find on the net, This is the one and only in town, the other one, located in Le Marais district, as closed now. By the way Bastille is the new eden for genuine Parisian since, each year, we have to abandon more territory to the mass tourism industry. Join us in our real hangouts!
