The west side of Paris concentrates the majority of the most famous landmarks in town. Arc de triomphe, Eiffel tower, Concorde and the Tuileries gardens, Grand and Petit palais, not to mention the French presidency, a fabulous estate once offered by a king to his beloved mistress.
Along the most expensive strips of real estate in the city, you get as close as can be to what makes the fame of Paris. Art of living with top restaurants, elegant tea rooms and cosy bars, high rise fashion brands and fancy stores, prestigious theaters and extensive exhibition halls built for the numerous world fairs. Might appear a bit shallow but it is part of the genetics of the city of lights and it takes its roots in the history of France.
